- In this story, two 18-year old high school students were speeding in a Tesla which ultimately started fire and caused both passengers to die. A few months later, the parents of one of the students killed filed a lawsuit blaming Tesla for letting the car reach that speed and starting fire. Although the parents had gotten Tesla mechanics to put an 85-mph speed limit on their at, that did not stop it from reaching 116-mph that tragic afternoon.
- The problem presented in this story is the lack of safety in Teslas. Because they had put a limit on the speed the car would reach, Tesla had faced a problem with their trustworthiness and reliability.
- People that drive Teslas, surrounding cars during a Tesla accident, and Tesla itself are all facing this safety problem.

Another problem is the lack of adequate quality testing that allows these contaminated foods to go on the shelves. Lastly, another problem is not being able to recall the food items quick enough.

- https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0106%21January%2B06&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/170CB70673783178
- The effect of the 2 week long government shutdown has been difficult for those in South Florida. Thousands of South Florida government workers won't get their paychecks on time. Courts are running low on money, therefore, it will soon be difficult to function. All sorts of government agencies have been running low on money as well, which has an enormous impact on South Florida. Because Trump won't approve of a national budget until it includes a certain amount of money for a border wall that he approves.
- The problem presented is the lack of productivity currently in the federal government, the unproductive nature of government agencies, and lack of pay for government workers. Also airport security seems to be heavily affected by this.
- This problem is the large affect that this shutdown has on government workers and their families, who rely on their income. This also affects the United States as a whole and other countries since it is a global economy.

It was two months later, when chemical levels began to increase even more, that they decided to inform the public of the unsafe water conditions in Ocala, Florida.

- The general public who drinks water from a faucet or well are the main individuals who are affected by this problem.
All of these articles showed problems in the community that can be fixed, sometimes with simple solutions. I enjoyed reading your post.
ReplyDeleteYour article about the turkey recall due to salmonella was very interesting. I cannot believe some of the biggest grocery stores like Target, Walmart, and Sam's Club were selling contaminated food. The recall happened four days before Christmas, which is when many people cook large turkey dinners. This may be why the number of people who became ill was so high.
ReplyDeleteHello, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I also found the turkey recall article very interesting. The fact that so many stores were holding contaminated food is very worrying, especially so close to Christmas. Also, the tainted water that officials decided not to tell residents about is completely unacceptable - thanks for bringing the problem to my attention.
Hey Kelly,
ReplyDeleteIn regards to the first story regarding the Tesla, I think that Tesla is not at fault as it is the responsibility of the driver to drive the vehicle at safe speeds. I also chose to write about the problems occurring in Venezuela under President Nicolas Maduro. I feel terrible for the Venezuelans as they are suffering because of an illegitimate leader.
